Introducing the CLIL Professional Learning Circles: A New Monthly Series for 2025!

The CLIL Teacher Education Lab is excited to announce the launch of our new monthly series, CLIL Professional Learning Circles, starting in February 2025. These sessions are intended as a regular, informal, and casual space for teachers and researchers interested in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) to discuss current issues, share ideas, and learn together.

When and Where?

Join us from 4–5pm (AEST) on the second Thursday of each month, either in person or online. Our first session will be held on Thursday, February 13th, 2025.

If you can make it in person, please feel free to join us at Room L221, Level 2 Faculty of Education, 100 Leicester Street, Carlton Victoria 3052. To join online, please register here for the recurring link.

What to Expect?

The intention is to offer a regular but informal, casual space to share ideas, discuss issues, and learn together.

The focus each month will be largely determined by those who attend! Some sessions will have featured speakers and Q&A time/discussion (like the first in the series in February, presented by Dr. T.J. Ó Ceallaigh and Máire Uí Chonghaile from University College Cork about bilingual education and its impact in Ireland, the location for World CLIL 2025). Others will be driven largely by the group’s own ideas for topics and suggestions (such as “What are some ideas for teaching XYZ through CLIL?“, and/or sharing websites, resources, readings, etc.).

Why Participate?

  • Network and Collaborate: Connect with fellow educators and researchers to share experiences and ideas.
  • Learn from and with Colleagues: Gain valuable insights from fellow teachers and researchers in CLIL.
  • Stay Informed: Stay up-to-date with current developments and research in CLIL.

How to Join?

Simply mark your calendar for the second Thursday of each month and join us at 4pm! If attending in person, please shoot a quick email to ensure we manage numbers in terms of the room arrangements. For online participation, don’t forget to regiester here for the recurring link.

We look forward to seeing you there!
